Data Architect – Preston (Remote) – £65,000 to £75,000 per annum

I am currently partnered with the UK's leading Retail Estate companies who own or manage over 25,000 properties, Homes and Leisure centres across the UK.

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Data Architect to join their crucial Data and Platform Engineering team, as the first Data Architect within this team, your role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining my partners Data platform. Additionally, you will oversee the entire design and optimization process of my partners Data architecture, ensuring it aligns with business objectives, scalability requirements, and industry best practices. Another key element of the Data Architect role is to lead the design and development efforts, producing comprehensive High-Level Designs (HLD) documentation, and adhere to Data Governance policies and best practices. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the dynamic growth of a major UK company, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and shaping the organization's data landscape. The ideal candidate is an experienced and innovative Data Architect with a strong technical background and leadership capabilities. As the first Data Architect in this team, you will have the opportunity to sculpt and monitor the companies Data platform, giving you exposure to the entire Data lifecycle.

Requirements of the Data Architect role:

• Strong knowledge of Data Platform Architecture, configuration, and optimization
• Proficiency in data modelling, optimizing for query performance.
• Good understanding of Googles BigQuery platform
• Strong understanding of Data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes experience in AWS, Azure or GCP (Company is currently working with GCP)
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Ability to take a proactive stance to minimize risks in line with Business appetite
• Well versed in data security and GDPR requirements
• Capable of researching new technologies
• Soft skills: Ability and passion for providing leadership and mentoring

About the Data Architect role:

• Located in Preston
• Remote role (expected to go onsite once a month)
• Offering between £65,000 to £75,000 per annum
• 36 hours of work per week
• 2 stage interview process (1st remote, 2nd on site)
